PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Three years after the city of Phoenix implemented new plans to address some of the most crime-ridden parts of town, city officials are calling it a success so far.
“In addition to the reduction of crime, you’re just going to see less blight, less graffiti,” said Phoenix Police Department Patrol Division Assistant Chief Sean Kennedy.
That’s part of the results of the Community Safety Plan that was established by the city in 2022. The effort aimed to address safety concerns along I-17, improve perceived safety in the area, enhance the outreach process for those in need, and reduce crime.
“We can see that this coordinated approach and the Real Time Operations Centers are making a difference in these communities,” said City of Phoenix Special Projects Administrator N
