3rd EyE Youth Empowerment is opening a new headquarters in downtown New Bedford, inviting the public to help shape its future.
The nonprofit's grand opening is set for 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 23 at 230 Union St., according to a community announcement. The event will blend celebration with community input.
The new space is designed as a creative hub for 3rd EyE’s youth programs, which focus on leadership, art and social change through hip hop culture. Visitors can tour the building, participate in interactive activities and offer feedback on how the space should be furnished and used. Funding is already in place for interior upgrades, but the organization is seeking community input before making final purchases.
The celebration will extend to nearby Abolition Row Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.
