Mateo Joseph has admitted that he "would have preferred things to end differently" in an emotional message to the Leeds United fans following his loan move to RCD Mallorca .

Daniel Farke said last month that Joseph had requested to leave Elland Road for a Spanish club . According to Farke, Joseph declined to travel to Sweden or Germany with the squad for pre-season preparation.

The Spain Under 21s international made it clear to Farke that he saw his future in his homeland, with Real Betis and Girona both exploring a move . However, Leeds rejected loan offers which included pre-agreed options to buy.
