PORTSMOUTH — Dozens of protesters targeting Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainee flights lined Grafton Road outside Portsmouth International Airport at Pease on Aug. 8, waving signs and chanting.

“What makes me angry is that this cruelty is being done in my name as a (U.S.) citizen,” said Portsmouth resident Dick Lates.

Alice Passer, a Greenland resident, held two signs calling for no “secret police” and for ICE to stay out of Pease.

“I believe in law and order and justice and that's not what's happening here," Passer said. "Protest is patriotic if your government is not doing what it’s supposed to be doing."
