Josie Kohn is making history this summer as the first person with Down syndrome to participate in the Inasmuch Foundation Community Fellowship program.

The program works to connect college undergraduate and graduate students with nonprofit organizations in Oklahoma City for a paid summer internship.

Kohn is approaching her sophomore year of college at Oklahoma State University through the school’s Opportunity Orange Scholars Program , a transition program for young adults between the ages of 18 and 26 with intellectual disabilities.

Her eligibility to apply for a position as an Inasmuch Foundation Community Fellow was made especially possible by her pursuit of postsecondary education as an Opportunity Orange Scholar.
