Officials regularly 'name and shame' companies that have been employing staff with no right to work in the UK. Working unlawfully has been cited as a major factor in drawing illegal migrants to Britain.
It has prompted the Home Office to hike fines to £45,000 per worker and carry out more raids across Coventry and the West Midlands. Figures revealed that more than 200 UK businesses were fined for employing illegal workers between October and December 2024.
