A former NYPD officer has been charged with various crimes after authorities said he lied about his criminal past and employment history while applying for jobs at departments in New Jersey.
Briant K. Nixon, 38, of Neptune Township, is charged with multiple second-degree crimes — one count of pattern of official misconduct and three counts each of official misconduct and tampering with public records, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement on Friday.
He also faces the fourth-degree charges of falsifying records, false swearing and unsworn falsification to authorities, the prosecutor’s office said.
