Generation Z is already known for going against the tide of traditional work culture and turning its back on the corporate ladder, but some young people in London have taken it even further by starting their own businesses - in street markets.
Many began their entrepreneurial journey by selling vintage garments on platforms like Depop and Vinted before transitioning to physical stalls. Others have backgrounds in the fashion industry but have decided to strike out on their own to take control of their careers. The National Market Traders Federation (NMTF) has seen a 40 per cent increase in members aged between 16 and 30 over the last three years, withunder-30s making up 15 per cent of the NMTF's membership, a figure that's expected to rise further.
