My brain is always going a million miles a minute about a thousand different things. Being a mom of three young kids, I’m also being pulled in three different directions, constantly. There’s never a quiet minute to sort my thoughts or come up with new ideas — except when I’m folding my laundry or mowing the lawn. Those mundane tasks that have become second nature in our adult lives are the moments when great brain waves flourish.

My husband and I actually argue over who gets to mow each week, because it’s a “quiet time” (as in, no one is asking you questions) and you can maybe get some of that deep thinking done, because the noise of the engine whirring drowns out those little thoughts and extra rabbit trails. We often find ourselves talking out loud even, as again, our voices are drowned
