FOXBORO – TreVeyon Henderson needed all of 12 seconds to make an impression in his Gillette Stadium debut on Aug. 8.
That’s how long it took for the rookie to return Friday night’s opening kickoff for a touchdown .
Henderson put the Patriots in front to stay on a perfect evening for football, a preseason opener that the hosts dominated by a count of 48-18. The sellout crowd was barely in its seats when Henderson made his first professional touch a memorable one.
“I thought the kicker was going to get me,” Henderson said. “I had to make sure I hit the gas. That’s when I knew.”
