The Devil Wears Prada sequel is at risk of being “ruined” by social media, fans have complained.

The second instalment is set for release in May 2026 and will see Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep reprise their roles as Andrea Sachs and Miranda Priestly.

But when filming began in June, images of the characters’ outfits and the New York sets were quickly shared across Instagram, X and TikTok.

It has resulted in an outcry from fans, who have waited nearly 20 years for the sequel, pleading for publications and paparazzi to stop “spoiling the magic”.

Viren Shah, the fashion commentator, said the film has been “totally ruined by the constant photos” published online.
