A double-decker sightseeing bus got the green light from Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Board.
Members approved an application from Sault Lock Tours to operate a vehicle for hire at a meeting last Wednesday. The board oversees the city’s municipal bylaw that regulates the taxi industry.

“ They’ve done everything they need to do to move this application forward,” said Chief Brent Duguay.
Mayor Matthew Shoemaker, who sits on the board, called the bus “a spectacular addition to our tourist offerings here in the Sault.
“ It’s really a nostalgic way to see the city,” he said.
The updated 1973 Daimler Fleetline brings tourists to downtown attractions.
