Chris Woakes is willing to make another huge sacrifice for England to stand a chance of being involved in The Ashes.

The England star suffered a dislocated shoulder during the fifth Test against India at The Oval and has revealed he might not have surgery to ensure he's fit to head Down Under.

The 36-year-old didn't bowl for the remainder of the Test, but he did come out to bat in the second innings.

With England chasing a record score at The Oval, they found themselves nine wickets down, needing less than 20 runs to win.

Woakes came out to bat one handed with his arm in a sling, but he didn't have to face a ball as Gus Atkinson kept him off strike.
