Ogden • Thirteen people were displaced and a firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion after a fire at an Ogden apartment complex Friday night.
In a news release Saturday morning, the Ogden City Fire Department says crews were dispatched just after 11 p.m. to the 300 block of 32nd Street, where they saw smoke and flames coming from the windows of the building.
After the building was evacuated, crews worked to contain the flames. Preliminary findings estimate nearly $1 million in damage.
Some 32 firefighters from the Ogden and Riverdale Fire departments were deployed, along with four engines, two ladder trucks, two ambulances and three paramedic trucks. The Red Cross was called to assist the displaced residents.
The fire is under investigation by the Ogden fire marshal’s office.
