TOWN OF SUN PRAIRIE (WKOW) -- Dane County Sheriff's Office is now leading an investigation after human remains were discovered in a manure pit in the 2100 block of STH 19 in the Town of Sun Prairie early Saturday morning.

The identification of the deceased individual is pending and will be released by the Medical Examiner at a later date.

The Dane County Sheriff's Office initially ruled it a "suspicious circumstance in a manure pit" in the Town of Sun Prairie.

The dispatch center received a call at about it at 6:46 a.m. Saturday morning to the location.

Dane County Sheriff's are on scene investigating the situation.

This is an ongoing investigation.
