MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) - Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed two teenagers and sent two others to the hospital with serious injuries.
In a report, officials say a 19-year-old from Ellenton was driving a Dodge Charger at a “high rate of speed” on Silverleaf Avenue around 2:15 A.M. and crashed into several trees after veering off the road.
The crash killed the driver and a 19-year-old man from Parrish.
The two other passengers, a 17-year-old boy from Parrish and a 16-year-old girl from New York were listened in critical and serious condition, according to the FHP report.
The 16-year-old was the only one wearing a seatbelt.
The crash is currently under investigation.
