SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - If you’ve been outside this weekend, you know the drill. Muggy mornings, hot afternoons, and storms crashing the party by evening. And tonight, more be on the way.

Tonight

Storm coverage will expand across Suncoast counties this evening, with the highest rain chances between 6 PM and midnight.

Some storms could produce 1–2 inches of rain in a short time, leading to ponding on roads and minor flooding in low lying areas. Gusty winds and frequent lightning will be possible. After midnight, activity will taper to scattered showers.

Sunday Setup

Moist southeast winds and a very humid atmosphere will keep the storm machine running. Showers will fire up inland by midday and drift west toward the coast late in the day.
