RED SPRINGS — Red Springs Art Space is holding a solo show for co-owner Jeffery Geller.
The gallery presents a multimedia showcase of Geller’s art, featuring a selection of ceramics, fabric designs, and paintings. The paintings employ figure silhouettes created from collage cutouts and abstract patterns to convey a theme of personhood, specifically highlighting individuals who confront adversity on their terms.
“I say persons and not people with this,” Geller said, “because even if the painting has multiple figures, they’re all individuals.”
Some of Geller’s more unique pieces in the gallery are the tunic shirts designed in collaboration with a local seamstress. The shirts are printed with designs directly from some of Geller’s paintings, which influenced the final product’s design.
