The man suspected of opening fire and killing a police officer Friday at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ( CDC ) building in Atlanta, Georgia had previously expressed anti-vaccine sentiments, according to multiple reports.

Hours after the incident, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation identified the suspected shooter as 30-year-old Patrick Joseph White, of Kennesaw, Georgia. White allegedly opened fire on the CDC building, which caused panic both on that campus as well as nearby Emory University.

DeKalb County Police Officer David Rose, who was among the first responders to the shooting , was shot and killed. White was later found dead from a gunshot wound at a nearby CVS; it’s unclear “whether that was from officers or if it was self-inflicted,” Atlanta Police Chief
