LUDLOW, Mass. (WWLP) - Business is booming at a local appliance store as Massachusetts' tax-free weekend begins.
At Cluett's Appliance, employees said that they typically see three months' worth of business during this holiday. Customers are shopping for everyday appliances like dishwashers, dryers, stoves, and refrigerators. A majority of customers pre-ordered their appliances to beat the rush.
Employees say the only challenge is that delivery can be delayed. For this weekend, they've extended hours, sales, and promotions.
"Sales are definitely up, it works good," said Eric Swett, Secretary at Cluett's Appliance. "All of our employees end up working overtime. That goes back into employees' pockets, which is always a nice feeling, and with that, it somehow comes back into the community.
