BAY CITY, MI – There’s that man again.
Anybody who thought Jacob Wheeler might coast across the finish line after clinching Angler of the Year on Friday may want to check the leaderboard.
Adding another chapter to a dominant campaign, Wheeler earned one of 10 spots in the Championship Round of the Bass Pro Tour’s season finale in Bay City. One day after securing his fourth season points title in five years, Wheeler attacked the waters of Saginaw River and Saginaw Bay yet again to place third in the Knockout Round on Saturday.
He joins Qualifying Round winner Edwin Evers and eight other finalists Sunday in the bid for the $150,000 grand prize at Stage 7, the final leg of the Bass Pro Tour season.
