HOUSTON — It’s not the kind of band you expect to see headlining a show at the Bayou Music Center.
They play rock, rap and even country—an unexpected mix that’s caught the attention of thousands across the country. But what really surprises many is that they’re all Catholic priests.
“This is not a full-time gig,” said Father Kevin Lenius of Midland, Texas. “We are parish priests serving the people.”
Led by Father David Michael Moses—who writes the songs and serves as the frontman—the group features priests from across the U.S. who all share a passion for music and ministry.
Their sound is far from traditional church hymns.
“There is rap, rock... different genres and softer songs,” said Father Victor Perez, pastor at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Houston.
