MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) — A downtown Minot art museum is celebrating more than half a century of business.
The Taube Museum of Art opened in the 1970s.
Executive director Rachel Alfaro said that while the museum turned 50 in 2020, they didn’t really get to celebrate due to the pandemic.
She said one of the museum’s highlights is The Sketchbook Project.
It boasts more than 1,000 sketchbooks from across the world.
Alfaro added that the museum has seen many upgrades and additions over the years, like a handicap lift, residence space, and more.
“Our goal is to keep it alive in the community, keep it available to people who may not be able to access it otherwise,” said Rachel Alfaro.
The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday.
