The Gilbert Town Council has endorsed the creation of the Colonia Home Ranch Irrigation Water Delivery District.

Council approving the measure 6-0 at its Aug. 5 meeting with Councilmember Yung Koprowski absent.

An IWDD is a special taxing district under Arizona law that facilitates delivery of irrigation water to landowners’ properties and manages the associated infrastructure.

The Colonia Home Ranch IWDD would oversee the management, maintenance and operation of a private irrigation system serving 53 residential parcels in the Colonia Grande and Home Ranch Meadow subdivisions, east of Gilbert Road and south of Elliot Road.
