Crash on Dixie Highway leaves man dead, woman in hospital

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - A three-vehicle crash on Dixie Highway left a man dead and a woman in the hospital.

Louisville Metro Police said they responded to a report of a car crash in the 13100 block of Dixie Highway at around 12:25 p.m. on Saturday, August 9.

At the scene, officers learned from witnesses that a woman was driving southbound on Dixie Highway when she crossed into the northbound lanes and struck a car. The impact of the crash caused the woman’s car to also hit a pickup truck traveling in the northbound lanes.

The woman and the man driving the first car that was hit were taken to UofL Hospital by EMS, where the female driver is expected to survive; however, the man was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.
