MAPLE HEIGHTS, Ohio — A 28-year-old man was shot Saturday afternoon while loading groceries into his car outside the Giant Eagle on Warrensville Center Road, according to Maple Heights Police.
According to a press release, officers responded to the scene at 5321 Warrensville Center Road around 1:40 p.m., where they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to MetroHealth Medical Center for treatment. On Sunday, Maple Heights police said the victim died from his injuries at the hospital just before 7 a.m.
The victim has been identified as Timothy Kappenhagen, 28, according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office.
Police say Kappenhagen had just finished shopping when he was approached by the suspect in the parking lot. A struggle ensued,
