Pontiac — Demi Bagby had never been to Michigan, never lined up a wildly powerful custom car for a drag race.
This weekend, the 24-year-old Arizona resident ticked both items off her bucket list at MotorTrend's Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge, as she competed in a black 1987 Buick Grand National juiced up with about 800 horsepower.
"I've been wanting to go to Detroit," said Bagby, an influencer who posts about fitness, sports and cars. "I'm such a big motorhead. I'm like, 'What's the reason we're gonna end up in Detroit — Roadkill?' That's pretty cool. Your first time here, you're racing down Woodward? Come on."
