Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas arrived at Port Canaveral on Saturday morning, fresh from its debut voyage.
The massive vessel is the cruise line’s latest addition, featuring new restaurants, attractions, and entertainment options. Experts say the ship’s year-round sailings are expected to generate millions of dollars through tourism, local jobs and port operations.
"It’s massive," said passenger Ahmad Kornay. "Honestly, getting on board, it was like being in a mall. It’s definitely different than any other cruise ships I’ve ever been on."
The Star of the Seas will sail year-round from Port Canaveral with itineraries through the Caribbean, including stops at Royal Caribbean’s private island in the Bahamas.
The ship’s official naming ceremony will be held later this month. Music lege
