DUNSEITH, ND (KXNET) — North Dakotans and Manitobans came together on Saturday to blend the border between their two countries.

Hundreds of neighbors from both the United States and Canada took part in the "Handshake Across The Border" at the International Peace Garden.

The International Peace Garden dates all the way back to 1932, when the 3.65-square-mile park was first established as a shared symbol of peace between Canada and America.

Nearly a century later, the relationship between these two global powerhouses has endured its share of ups and downs, but the spirit of peace, love, and solidarity between these neighbors has never been crushed, and Peace Garden leaders say events like these help to keep that same spirit alive.
