TURKEY, Texas (KFDA) - Dax Allen, who starred for Valley Patriots football when he was in high school, takes over the program at his alma mater for the 2025 season.

It wasn’t long ago that Allen was putting on the Valley Patriots jersey and playing under the Friday night lights.

In a full circle moment, he has returned to Valley to be back on the sidelines — this time calling the shots.

“This is a place I truly care about,” Allen says. “It’s a place I grew up, it’s a place that I give credit to where I’m at now and what I have in life. I really do think it’s a special place for kids to grow up at.”

After Crockett Gilmore put in his resignation and the coaching position opened up, Allen left the O’Donnell Eagles to come back to where it all started.
