Fairfield police are investigating a homicide after a 19-year-old man was shot while sitting in a car in a business parking lot near West Texas Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. Officers say several shots were fired into the vehicle before they arrived and gave first aid. The victim later died at the hospital. Detectives believe the shooting was targeted and say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
