MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A 44-year-old man was pushed onto the subway tracks in Manhattan Saturday evening, according to the NYPD.

The incident happened around 7:48 p.m. at the 50th Street Station.

Responding officers located a 44-year-old man with injuries to the face, police say.

It was reported to police that the victim was on the No. 1 train platform when an unidentified individual approached and pushed him, causing him to fall onto the tracks.

The suspect then exited the station to parts unknown, police say.

Police say the victim was able to get back onto the platform and did not make contact with any trains.

EMS transported the victim to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.
