SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - The Birthplace of Route 66 Festival continues Saturday in Downtown Springfield.

All day, enjoy live music, car and bike shows, vendors, and opportunities to learn about the history of Route 66.

“We are the birthplace of Route 66, meaning the name of the famous Mother Road was named here in Springfield, and we have that unique identifier that no other community along Route 66 has,” Scott said.

The festival has fun for the whole family. At the Discovery Center from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., kids can check out a collection of heavy-duty vehicles. There will be firetrucks, construction vehicles, tractors, and more.
