A rookie exhibitor and one of the youngest in the show took top honors in the market steer competition at the Washington Town & Country Fair Thursday night.
Kinsley VanLeer, 8, of Beaufort, whom the judge addressed as the “little girl with the heavy-weighing steer” needed assistance with her energetic steer in the ring and before the competition, but was all smiles when her animal was named grand champion. ×
