LEE CO., Iowa (KWQC) - Seven people were injured in a two vehicle crash in Lee County Saturday evening.

The crash happened around 5:15 p.m. in rural Lee County, according to Iowa State Troopers.

Troopers said a Mitsubishi SUV was driving north on 240th Avenue and a Chrysler sedan was driving west on Highway 16.

According to troopers, the SUV failed to stop at a stop sign and drove onto Highway 16 where it was struck by the sedan.

Of the seven injured, two were airlifted to University of Iowa Hospital for treatment of injuries, and five were taken to local hospitals, troopers said.

The names of the injured have not been released.

Troopers said the crash is under investigation.
