Mackinac Straits Raptor Watch is hosting a free, public program focused on bird migration.

The event, titled "Wings Over Mackinac," is scheduled for 7:30-9 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 12 at the Headlands International Dark Sky Park Event Center, 15675 Headlands Road in Mackinaw City, according to a community announcement.

Executive director Scott Davis will provide an organizational update, Nick Alioto will present his research on red-tailed hawk migration, and Jeff and Laurie Dykehouse will discuss the monarch butterflies' journey from Michigan to Mexico.

The event will also feature a silent auction.
