A bomb threat on Friday afternoon brought police and K-9 units to the same block of the Wildwood Boardwalk as a pizzeria that has attracted outrage online for displaying alleged Nazi imagery.
The Wildwood Police Department received a call at 3:24 p.m. about the threat, which targeted an unnamed business on the 3300 block of the boardwalk.
Officers responded to the scene and evacuated the area, sending in canine handlers with explosive-detecting dogs, the police department said in a news release.
No threat to public safety was found and the site was reopened to the public, police said.
The incident remained under investigation on Saturday. Any individuals with information on the matter were asked to contact the police department’s detective division at 609-522-0222.
