Winneshiek County Sheriff Dan Marx has survived the onslaught of our state government . Attorney General Brenna Bird withdrew the lawsuit against him, and she should have. It should have never been brought in the first place. Marx, a true “constitutional sheriff,” was simply upholding his oath of office. He was protecting his constituents who elected him, against searches and seizures barred by the United States and Iowa constitutions.
