SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Thunderstorm action could linger into the evening hours. A weak disturbance over Florida combined with abundant tropical moisture in the atmosphere is responsible for the greater chance of thunderstorms. The disturbance moves out to the Gulf after the weekend, so thunderstorms may be more hit-and-miss during the work week.

Beaches could also see scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Lightning could be frequent and dangerous Sunday. Coastal roads could experience ponding or flooding during afternoon storms.
