FAYETTEVILLE -- Improved pass protection and huge performances from quarterback Taylen Green, tailback Mike Washington Jr. and receiver Monte Harrison highlighted the first scrimmage of training camp for the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday.
The scrimmage, roughly 135 to 140 plays inside Reynolds Razorback Stadium per Coach Sam Pittman, was the eighth practice of camp on a hot morning with temperatures in the mid-80s, and it was closed to members of the media. Freshman kicker Scott Starzyk also had a big day by going 5 of 6 on field-goal tries from various distances, Pittman said.
The first-team offense scored three touchdowns among its first 15 plays, all against the second unit on defense, Pittman said, including touchdown runs by Washington of 4 and 40 yards. The first score was set up
