LEXINGTON, Ky. — Residents said Fayette County Public Schools construction is cracking their walls and shaking their homes, and they're now taking the district to court.
FCPS faces a lawsuit that claims construction work of a new school is for trespassing on private property and unlawful taking of property.
“That’s the way they conduct themselves all the time," said Theresa Lieto, one of four property owners suing the district. "They go ahead and approve and do things they want to do and then the public finds out about it later."
She said construction has left cracks in her walls and has shifted the stone wall in her backyard, which she fears at some point will come crumbling down on her home.
