LOUISVILLE, Ky. — St. Joe’s Picnic for the Kids was back for the 176th year, full of food, games, raffles and live music, all for a good cause.
Christina Crush, special events manager for St. Joseph Children's Home, said it started as a picnic for visitation for parents to come see their kids.
“It has turned into this 176 years later," Crush said. "Just knowing that Louisville keeps coming back, just knowing that the community comes together on one weekend every single year, just means a whole lot. And it's all for the kids."
St. Joseph Children’s Home has been a lifeline for foster children since 1849, providing a safe home and a bright future for every child.
