Week one of the NFL Preseason typically offers young players and roster hopefuls an opportunity to play over the seasoned veterans on the roster. For the New York Giants, there was an expectation that Russell Wilson would sit out of Saturday's game against the Buffalo Bills.

On the morning of the matchup, it was revealed that it wouldn't be the case. The veteran quarterback was slated to start for the Giants, making his official Big Blue debut. The move came as a bit of a shock.

"I definitely wanted to play," Wilson told reporters after the game with a smile on his face. "Anytime you get to be in the white lines, it's a good thing. It's a blessing."
