Thousands of Blue Badge holders could miss out on receiving up to £3,750 as a new scheme launches on Monday. The Government's new Electric Car Grant portal — set up after Labour announced discounts on the sale of brand new EVs — is set to go live on August 11.
The discount will be available to motorists buying vehicles priced under £37,000, as part of a bid to stimulate demand for sustainable and electric models . But experts warn an astonishing 11,000 disabled Blue Badge holders may not qualify for the savings due to stringent affordability criteria.
