From Kalamazoo to Surprise, a couple hooking up in their seventies happens more often than not as the Summer Players spotlight love and laughter for a seasoned demographic experiencing the modern dating scene.
The play, “Kalamazoo,” which is locally directed, produced and starring Jeff Martini and Pat Halon in a production by The Grand Drama & Comedy Club opens 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, in the Cimarron Theater in Surprise.
Authorized by Michelle Kholos Brooks and Kelly Younger, the romantic comedy involves “two quirky, but endearing seventy-something baby-boomers” whose characters, Peg and Irv, explore modern dating in new-age settings, meet for dinner, drink too much and awaken together the next morning in a motel.
