The New York Jets ' defense is about to receive a major boost as Pro Bowl edge rusher Jermaine Johnson II was activated off the physically unable to perform list Sunday following his recovery from an Achilles tear. His activation from the PUP list means Johnson has been cleared to practice.
In Week 2 of last season, Johnson went down while pursuing Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis . Johnson tore his Achilles on the play and he missed the final 15 games.
