MIDDLETON, Wis. (WMTV) - Despite steady rain forcing the annual Roll & Stroll for Pancreatic Cancer indoors this year, hundreds of participants gathered at Capital Brewery on Sunday to raise more than $115,000 for pancreatic cancer research.
Paige Zezulka, chair of the Roll & Stroll, described the day’s challenging start.
“Waking up this morning, the forecast did not look pretty. However, we still had hope, and that’s what the task force has. We always have hope, and we got our crew together, our volunteers together, and we said let’s be at Capital Brewery at 7:00 AM.”
The fundraiser, hosted by the UW Carbone Cancer Center’s Pancreas Cancer Task Force, aims to increase awareness and support vital research for one of the deadliest forms of cancer. So far, the event has raised about $115,
