The title "Alien: Earth" says it all . The new entry into the “Alien” franchise takes it the only logical places that it could go – Earth and television.

After nine films — the first (“Alien,” 1979) and second (“Aliens,” 1986) being absolute classics — it would be easy to assume that there was nothing left to mine, but society evolves and offers opportunities. And in a lesser filmmakers’ hands, those opportunities may not have been seen. But "Alien: Earth" creator Noah Hawley (“Fargo,” “Legion”) is not slouch in the series department.

And that shows in his take on the reptilian, helmet-headed parasites that have populated the “Alien” universe. The premise is simple; those creatures have crash landed on Earth in a mysterious ship and they threaten to overrun the planet.
