A man and a woman from California were charged last week in a home invasion burglary in Point Pleasant Borough, authorities said.

The woman kicked open the back door to a home on Barton Avenue at about 1:35 p.m. Thursday while the homeowner was inside before the pair stole items and fled, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said. The man also fired a single gunshot during the break-in, officials allege.

Jaheim D. Wilson, 23, and Oleyah Brown, 21, of Stockton, California, were arrested in Toms River at 11 p.m., hours after the incident.

Both are charged with home invasion burglary. Wilson is also charged with two weapons offenses.

Both remain held in the Ocean County jail on Monday morning, according to online jail records.

Brown is scheduled for a first appearance on Wednesday.
