President Donald Trump is set to announce plans to use federal resources to tackle crime and homelessness in Washington, D.C. , on Monday. The move follows through on a campaign promise to address both issues.

The president recently posted on social media, describing Washington, D.C., as "one of the most dangerous cities anywhere in the world," and criticized the city's cleanliness despite efforts by Mayor Muriel Bowser.

Trump shared photos of homeless encampments and litter on the side of a road , stating that the government will provide housing for homeless individuals "far from the capital."
